NORWICH – The Chenango United Way is set to kick-off its annual Day of Caring this Saturday, and if past experiences are any indication community members will see scores of caring volunteers out doing their part to make a difference this weekend.
Historically, the event has been a day long event that has proven beneficial to hundreds of community partners throughout the years, as United Way board members and volunteers travel throughout the county and lend a helping hand, and this year should prove to be no different.
This year, committee members of the charitable organization decided to do something a little different in an effort to fulfill unmet need within the community.
“This year we are implementing a massive county-wide hygiene collection to stock the shelves of area food pantries,” said United Way Executive Director Elizabeth Monaco.
