PLYMOUTH – Bob Branham and David Bowman teamed for an 11-under-par total to capture the 13th Annual Bill Carson Memorial Senior Member-Guest Tournament, last week at Canasawacta Country Club.
Branham and Bowman were partners for several years in the regular member-guest tournament, and won several titles in that event. Over the two-day tournament, Branham and Bowman racked up 15 birdies in the modified format. The first 18 holes were best ball play, and the second day was captain and mate.
Placing second at 3-under-par was the brother tandem of Jay and Ron Whipple.
Keith Reynolds and Jamie O’Donnell won the second flight shooting a 148 over two days. Reynolds and O’Donnell edged Jim and Tom Wysor by one stroke.
Mike McCormack and Vince Napoletano captured the third flight in a sudden-death playoff beating Butch and Ernie Muserallo on the second playoff hole. After each team parred the opening hole, McCormack and Napoletano birdied the second playoff hole for the victory.
Tournament officials said a record 48 players participated in the two-day tournament.
