Come as you are to 'As I Am' Church

NORWICH – An area couple who have dedicated their life to the church recently opened the door of their own church, and urge those seeking a relaxed worship to come as they are.

Recently, Pastor Andy Doyle, along with his wife, Tracy, ambitiously set forth on a new a path to answer their calling and put down roots in downtown Norwich.

Congregating on Sundays at 20 S. Broad St., the As I Am Church operates beneath the banner of shattering tradition; so much so that the church has appropriately adopted the slogan, “Breaking down the walls of tradition.”

“The non-denominational format of the new church is designed for today’s living,” said Tracie Doyle. “We have had a steadily increasing attendance, with anywhere from a handful up to 25 or more showing up for Sunday service.”

According to the Doyles, all sermons are concise and to the point, and there are no long periods of standing or keeling.

“All of our teachings are based on a lesson straight from the Bible, and last no longer than 25-30 minutes,” said Tracie Doyle. “We feel that all of our messages should come directly from the Bible and nowhere else, and should keep people engaged and attentive – so we keep things high-energy and exciting.”
