OXFORD – First responders and Chenango County Sheriff's deputies reported to the scene of a one-car rollover with entrapment Friday evening along the north bound side of State Highway 12, just south of the Village of Oxford, officials said.

According to Lt. Richard Cobb of the CCSO, Chenango dispatch received a vehicle and traffic complaint by a third party passerby of a northbound vehicle traveling erratically.

According to the report, the vehicle eventually came to a complete stop in the travel lane of the highway. The third party approached the vehicle to check the welfare status of the occupants and witnessed two individuals – one male, one female – who appeared to be “asleep” within the stopped vehicle.

According to Lt. Cobb, the passerby then attempted to wake the subjects, who became startled when roused and then fled that location in the Town of Brisben.

At that time, the passerby notified Chenango County 911 who dispatched sheriff’s deputies to that area.
