GREENE – A Greene man was arrested Friday, Oct. 10 after authorities confiscated methamphetamine and items to produce the drug.
Carmine P. Pezzino II, 47, Greene, was arrested for unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, a class D felony. Authorities said the items were in plain view, and the arrest occurred just two-tenths of a mile from the Greene Central School District.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, Village of Greene Police Department and New York State CCERT Team executed a search warrant at 87 South Chenango St. in the Village of Greene.
Per CCSO authorities, the warrant stemmed from an investigation into said residence being used to manufacture meth.
Meth is Federally classified by the Drug Enforcement Administration as a schedule 2 drug, in that it is said to have a high abuse potential that can lead to severe psychological or physical dependence.
On Friday afternoon, officers responded to the Greene residence and said they located items used to manufacture meth that (per a CCSO release) were “outside and in plain view.”
