Bainbridge-Guilford 3, Greene 1

OTEGO – Bainbridge-Guilford won its rubber match with Greene in a MAC Division II tiebreaker Wednesday, and as a result will play in its first league championship game.

The Bobcats, who split regular season meetings with the Trojans, battled back from a one-goal deficit scoring three unanswered goals to advance to today's title game at home against Delhi.

"It was wet and sloppy and the field was almost unplayable, but they were the better team," said Greene coach Rick Tallman. "They came to play with lot of emotion and played as a unit, and we played a little flat. Once they scored equalizer, we lost some wind in our sails."

Karl Zaengle scored for Greene (15-2) at the 13-minute mark, but Kyle Hanvey - the hero in B-G's win over Greene earlier this season - tallied the tying goal with 10 minutes left in the first half.

Hanvey was instrumental in the go-ahead goal sending a crossing pass to Jake Cuozzo, who headed in the shot from close range with 34 minutes left. Zach Smith added an insurance goal connecting on a 22-yard shot with 9:26 to play.

The Bobcats (14-2) host the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. "They have eight seniors who start, so they have experience, and I was impressed with their willingness to not quit after falling behind," Tallman said of B-G.
