NORWICH — Jessica Lennox, 21, of Norwich was arraigned on Tuesday for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in front of the couple's child during a domestic dispute. The alleged stabbing victim Domenick Lepera, 22, of Norwich was also arraigned for allegedly striking girlfriend Lennox.
The couple appeared before Judge James E. Downey in Norwich City Court.
Lennox was charged with assault in the second degree, a class D felony; criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor; criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor; endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor; and harassment in the second degree, a violation.
Lepera was charged with criminal obstruction of breath or blood, a class A misdemeanor; endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor; assault in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor; and harassment in the second degree, a violation.
It is alleged that on or about Oct. 20, at approximately 10:26 p.m., Lennox and Lepera engaged in a domestic dispute in front of their two-year-old son. “Both parties were engaged in domestic violence behavior in front of the child,” said Assistant District Attorney Michael Ferrarese.
Lepera allegedly caused bodily harm to Lennox by repeatedly striking her in the face and body with his hands and feet. He also allegedly put his hand around her throat and choked her. Lennox sustained bruises on her arms, legs, neck and back.
