SOUTH OTSELIC – A strong defensive performance in the first half allowed Otselic Valley to open a 17-point halftime lead in Tuesday’s opening win over visiting Stockbridge Valley.
The Vikes allowed just eight first-half points to create a 25-8 lead.
“I think both teams settled in better (offensively) in the second half,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “I wish we could have defended as well as we did in the first half.”
Matt Neal scored 17 points to lead OV, Jordan Baerga had 15, and Jason Olin scored 13 points to go with six steals, and four assists. “Our kids did a good job of passing and looking for each other tonight,” Loomis said.
OV hosts McGraw Friday.
