Sherburne-Earlville 55, Canastota 23
SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville held its second straight opponent under 30 points in Thursday’s rout of Canastota.
The Marauders allowed nearly half of Canastota’s points in the opening quarter before switching defenses with great success. “They were hitting shots against our zone, so we switched to man-to-man in the second quarter, and that made a big difference,” said S-E coach Karen Mulligan.
S-E’s Savannah Irwin had 14 points and seven assists, Lilly Berg scored 12 points and pulled down 13 boards, and Lexi Elderkin scored 11 points. “They tried to take Lilly away tonight, and we had some other people step up and make shots,” Mulligan said.
Sherburne-Earlville plays at Frankfort-Schuyler tonight.
