NORWICH – Last July, Back in Motion Massage Therapy opened up in downtown Norwich providing the community with a wide variety of therapeutic treatments.
After practicing for four years in the Norwich area, Jennifer Backus LMT decided it was time to relocate to a new home right in the heart of downtown Norwich. She finally set up shop in a quiet and cozy little nook located at 45 South Broad St., in the rear of the building that houses Giltner's Paint and Flooring. “It has been a really good transition,” said Backus about the move.
Back in Motion offers a variety of massage types that provide an array of health benefits. Back in Motion offers swedish massage, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, pregnancy massage, and medical massage. Backus also offers something that very few massage therapists provide in this area, and that is kinesiology taping.
Swedish massage – sometimes referred to as relaxation massage – is good for the improvement of circulation, to ease muscle tension and pain. It also helps improve flexibility and creates relaxation.
Deep tissue massage is good for those with chronic pain and those recovering from an injury. Deep tissue techniques focus on the realigning of deep layers of muscle and connective tissue. This is usually achieved with slow movements and deeper pressure concentrated on tension areas.
