Friends of Rogers to offer an introduction to winter tracking

SHERBURNE – The Friends of Rogers Adventure Team will be guiding adventurers on a wild hunt to find the elusive four-hoofed multi-pronged ungulate on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

As part of the Friends of Rogers Family Fun Program, explorers of all ages are invited to join in the expedition at Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne. This pesky, and mysterious, creature can be found in the local ecosystem if one knows how and where to look.

“Don’t be fooled by tracks left behind by other animals who call these woods their home,” said Sarah Freedman, Friends of Rogers Environmental Educator. “Learn a few simple ways to tell these creatures apart.”

Explorers should dress according to the weather, and don appropriate footwear, as the program will happen “snow or shine.” The trek will last about an hour and participants should expect to cover the distance of one mile on the adventure.
