NORWICH – According to the New York State Department of Health UHS Senior Living at Chenango Memorial Hospital placed in the top quintile of nursing homes throughout New York State based on findings from 2014 Nursing Home Quality Pool criteria.

Ron Cerow, the facility’s administrator, explained that only 107 of roughly 600 nursing home facilities in New York State qualified to be in the first quintile in 2014. The distinction earned by the Chenango Memorial’s nursing home is based on a battery of performance criteria including quality measures, compliance with reporting and potentially avoidable hospitalizations and how the facility is staffed to provide care.
