The Toddster has always enjoyed really great science fiction and it's no surprise that Star Trek is right at the top of the list. We were saddened this week to hear that Leonard Nimoy, who played Mr. Spock, from the Star Trek TV series and motion pictures, lost his battle with a long illness. He lived to be 83 and has left a great career behind that spanned decades. The patrol had many choices starring Nimoy but the Toddster has narrowed it down to just a few and we thought we would share them right here. Hopefully, they make it on your lists too.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan- The Crew of the USS Enterprise returns to battle an old enemy. Captain Kirk (William Shatner) has now become an Admiral and is now teaching cadets strategy at Starfleet Academy. What he wants to really do is be back at the helm of a Starship roaming the Galaxy and having adventures. Kirk's old flame, Dr. Carol Marcus (BiBi Besch) and her son David (Merritt Butrick) have developed a process called "The Genesis Wave" that can remake a planet in a matter of hours and in the wrong hands it could become a devastating weapon. Elsewhere, a survey crew on a mission to a remote planet finds a nomadic leader and his group. It turns out that he really is the 200 year old Khan Singh (Ricardo Montalban) that Kirk had an encounter years earlier. He now has the means to get what he wants and wants to get his revenge on Kirk. Kirk and his crew find them but are outmatched by Khan and his crew. With a surprising loss, is Kirk and the Enterprise going to stop him before it's too late?

Star Trek III: The Search For Spock- If you had the chance to bring back someone who meant something to you, wouldn't you take it? Captain James T Kirk (William Shatner) and the crew of the Enterprise are still reeling from their battle with Khan and the loss of their crew member Mr. Spock (Nimoy). None feel the loss worse than Kirk. Later, he receives a visit from Spock's Father Sarek (Mark Lenard) who informs him that there is a chance to save him and his immortal soul. It seems Spock shared a mindmeld with someone. They come to find out that it was with Dr. McCoy (Deforest Kelley). Now Kirk has to get Spock's body from the Genesis Planet that he helped to create. They have to steal the Enterprise before they're stopped by Federation forces. Other forces are at work against Kirk as well. The Klingons have discovered the secrets of Genesis and wants Kirk's son. Can Kirk save them in time?

Star Trek: The Next Generation: (Season 5, Episodes 7 and 8)- The new crew goes on an adventure to save someone from the past. Captain Jean Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his new crew on board the Latest incarnation of the Starship Enterprise continue the mission started by Kirk and Spock. Picard receives a visit from the commander of Starfleet Intelligence. They believe that Spock (Nimoy), now an Ambassador, has possibly been kidnapped and it's now Picard's mission to find out what has happened to Spock. Picard finds Spock on an enemy planet called Romulus. He's trying to find out if there is some way that the people of Romulus might want Reunification with Spock's home planet of Vulcan. Picard questions Spocks' motives but respects his efforts. Is there something behind Spock's mission or will Picard find something else more sinister more at work?

Star Trek (2009)-There's nothing wrong about seeing an old story with a new twist. Director J.J Abrams (Alias) gets his hands on this old favorite and brings an new incarnation of James Kirk (Chris Pine), Mr. Spock (Zachary Quinto), and the rest of the crew of the Starship Enterprise to tell the story of how this amazing crew first came together. There has been a Romulan crew led by a madman named Nero (Eric Bana) who has been making his way across the Galaxy and has been destroying every planet in his way. Vulcan is next on his list and now an untrained Kirk must find some way to deal with this and the unreasonable Spock. Vulcan is destroyed and now Kirk and Spock have go in pursuit of Nero. Along the way, Spock maroons Kirk on a distant planet where he finds an older version of Spock (Nimoy). Spock tells Kirk the story of how in the future he tried to save Romulus from being destroyed by a super nova. Spock was unsuccessful and now Nero believes Spock was responsible for destroying his home planet. Outmatched and outgunned, Spock tells Kirk he has to find a way to work with his younger self if they're to find a way to beat Nero. Can Kirk succeed on his new mission?

It was really hard to narrow this down but these were right up there. A couple of honorable mentions before we go include "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" and "Star Trek: Into Darkness." Nimoy only made an appearance in the second one. You can also be sure that the show "The Big Bang Theory" will be making some type of homage to the classic actor. To take a page from Spock's book "Live Long and Prosper." Nimoy will be sorely missed by trekkies all over the World (Including the Toddster).
