NORWICH – A Bainbridge man was indicted for allegedly sexually assaulting a relative, another man was indicted for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend's three-year-old son, and others were indicted for drug and theft related crimes in March by a Chenango County grand jury.
• Christopher A. Jennings, 32, Bainbridge was indicted on the charges of rape in the first degree, a class B felony; criminal sexual act in the first degree, a class B felony; incest in the first degree, a class B felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
It is alleged on or about March 14, 2015 at a West Main Street residence in the Village of Bainbridge, Jennings engaged in manual sexual conduct, oral sexual conduct and sexual intercourse with a relative, a 12-year-old female victim.
• Zane T. Abbott, 29, Norwich, was indicted on the charges of two counts of assault in the second degree, a class D felony; assault in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
It is alleged on about Feb. 26 at a Mitchell Street residence in the City of Norwich, Abbott – with intent to cause physical injury to his girlfriend's 3-year-old son – did so by striking him, which caused a fractured left orbital socket and multiple bruises and abrasions to the boy’s body.
