NORWICH – With a lease set to expire on its current location on Leilani’s Way in the Town of Norwich by the end of April, the Chenango Club, an auxiliary of the Chenango Department of Mental Hygiene Services, has a new home lined up in downtown Norwich.
A lease for space at the Chenango Housing Improvement Program, Inc. (CHIP) facility at 27 W. Main St. was unanimously approved by the county Board of Supervisors this month. The five-year, $1,625 per month lease will provide the program with adequate space and resources needed to perform its functions, according to Ruth Roberts, Chenango County Director of Community Services.
“I think it’s going to offer us a lot of options,” Roberts said. “Having it right in town is why we were very happy to find this location in the eleventh hour. Being close in the hub to other services and businesses for our patrons, and to the services at the Chenango County Office Building is a real plus.”
