NORWICH – A woman who was found with 47 bags of heroin and seven grams of cocaine in 2014 was sentenced to incarceration in Chenango County Court last Friday.
On May 15, 2014, the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of the Town of New Berlin Police Department, Norwich City Police Department and NPD K-9 Nitro, executed a no-knock search warrant on NY State Route 8 as part of an in-depth investigation into the sale of both heroin and cocaine.
40-year-old Jennifer L. Perotti of South New Berlin was arrested after deputies found the drugs inside her residence.
Perotti was subsequently charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony; criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree; and endangering the welfare of a child.
Perrotti was arraigned in the Town of Columbus Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.
According to District Attorney Joseph A. McBride, Perrotti served nearly six months in county jail before being released.
