NORWICH – An alleged sex offender of a four-year-old child victim pleads guilty to sexual abuse, has his sentencing adjourned and is temporarily released due to severe cancer which “may affect his life.”

62-year-old Danny Jeffrey of McDonough was arrested on Sept. 18, 2014 and charged with 10 class D felony counts of sexual abuse in the first degree and 10 class A misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly having criminal sexual relations with a child under the age of 11.

Jeffrey was arraigned in the Town of Pharsalia Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $25,000 cash bail.

On April 6 of this year Jeffrey pleaded guilty to one count of the class D felony of sexual abuse in the first degree.

It is alleged on or about a day during the month of July of 2012 on County Road 8 in the Town of Pharsalia, Jeffrey did subject a four-year-old female victim to manual sexual contact.

According to his public defender John Cameron, Jeffrey is suffering from cancer and will soon be undergoing a six to 10 hour surgery in Syracuse to get a port installed to receive chemotherapy.
