Norwich 3, Johnson City 2

JOHNSON CITY – Norwich snapped a two-game skid and evened its record on the season defeating Johnson City on the road Monday.

The Purple Tornado produced their best hitting performance of the season racking up nine basehits. The bottom-third of the order kick-started a two-run rally in the fourth that gave NHS the lead for keeps.

Hannah Eddy, moved to the fifth spot in the lineup, led off with a double, and advanced on Stephanie Meyer's fielder's choice. Allison Yacano then tied the game with her first RBI single of the season.

Later in the inning, Shannon Moore doubled in the go-ahead run. Moore finished 3-for-4, and Eddy went 2-for-3. "Right when I didn't think we would get things going, the bottom of the order came through for us," said Norwich coach Scott Moore.

Johnson City threatened to tie the game in the seventh when Norwich pitcher, Eddy, induced a game-ending flyout with two Wildcats runners on base.
