Norwich 8, Seton Catholic Central 2
BINGHAMTON – Norwich stopped a six-game losing streak defeating Seton Catholic Central for the second time this season Wednesday.
Norwich (3-8) scored all of its runs over the final two innings. In the sixth, Jordan Sanford singled, moved to second on a passed ball, and scored her team's first run on Kassidy Seary's single. Seary came in with the go-ahead run on Hannah Eddy's triple, and Eddy capped a three-run inning scoring on a passed ball.
The Tornado bats kept the momentum going in the seventh with Bridget Murphy, Shannon Moore, Seary, Eddy, and Gabby Mirabito all collecting single ribbies.
Seary finished 3-for-4 with two RBI, Moore was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Allison Yacano went 2-for-3. "Our hitting has been spotty this season, and I think it was Hannah's triple that got us rolling tonight," said Norwich coach Scott Moore. "Everyone started making contact, and it all came together in the last inning."
Norwich plays at Susquehanna Valley today.
