BROOME COUNTY– 36-year-old Jamie L. Blewett of Jones Avenue in Norwich was arrested by the New York State Police and the Broome County Sheriff's Office after she was allegedly found to be in connection with two separate bank robberies in Broome County.

The two separate robberies occurred in the last couple weeks at two different People's Security Bank and Trust Company banks, one on May 1 at 1235 Upper Front St. in the Town of Chenango and another last Friday at 1026 Conklin Rd. in Conklin at approximately 4:30 p.m., said authorities.

According to the NYSP, the description of the suspected bank robber on May 8 was a white female wearing a dark brown wig and driving a silver mini-van with New York State plates heading north on Route 7 towards the City of Binghamton.

A few minutes after the robbery, a state trooper saw a vehicle driving on Conklin Avenue near the intersection of Tompkins Street in Conklin, which he said matched the description. Authorities said it was Blewett's vehicle, and she was stopped and taken into custody after being identified.
