OXFORD – This Friday, June 5 from 4–6 p.m., 6 On the Square is proud to host the Annual Oxford Academy Student Art Show's Opening Reception. All are welcome at this event open to students, families, and the general public.
Primary School Teacher Katie Thomas, Charity Gipp from the Middle School, and High School Joni Eaton have been working with students to create an eclectic body of artwork in assorted media. For example, Ms. Gipp’s middle school students have created aboriginal prints, tempera leaf paintings, tessellations, town and room perspective drawing, and mandalas. Those who attend can look forward to a rich, school-wide portfolio of form, shape, color, and ideas all created by Oxford’s children and youth.
“The chance for students to display art in the community is not only very exciting for students,” said Thomas. “It inspires pride in families, and their joy and passion inspire us as teachers. The show is something I always look forward to.”
