SHERBURNE – The Sherburne Inn has been a staple of the Sherburne community for almost 100 years. But the now vacant Inn has become worn down over the years and members of the community are fighting to save the local landmark.
The Save The Sherburne Inn Restoration Project, Inc., or SSIRP, has been collecting donations and lobbying to help restore and save the once proud establishment. Recently the SSIRP announced that they have hired a contractor to help restore the building.
“The decision, which came down to two companies, was challenging,” SSIRP Board President Kathleen Yasas said. “Both companies had excellent reputations and submitted great bids, but at the end of the day, we had to look at cost and a connection to local residents and subcontractors. Rich and Gardner, the board decided, was the right firm for this phase of the project.”
The SSIRP says that they are very excited to get to work on the project.
