Five area softball players receive all-state recognition

SYRACUSE – Five Chenango County softball players received all-state recognition in a recent release from the New York State Sports Writers Association.

Afton's Cassidy Phillips and Tanya Hatton were each selected as first team Class D honorees; Norwich juniors Shannon Moore and Kassidy Seary earned fourth-team all-state recognition in Class B, while Greene senior Laura Durdon was a fifth-team pick in Class C.
