NORWICH – This weekend marks another year of Relay For Life in Norwich. Every year hundreds of people come out to support an event that has touched so many lives.
This year teams from all over Chenango County are coming out to support the charity. “Mad Hatters” team Capitans Kelly Smith and Teri Currie are back for their 17th year of participating in Relay For Life.
“We got into Relay because cancer has effected different members of our team,” said Smith and Currie. Both women said that cancer has hit very close to home for them.
“To us Relay gives us a chance to celebrate that common drive to fight back against the disease,” said both Smith and Currie. The “Mad Hatters” aren’t the only ones who are fighting back as volunteers for Relay For Life have been a continued help in making the fund raiser possible.
