NORWICH – Wayne Spratley, who has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in downtown Norwich, has been released from the Chenango County Correctional Facility after posting bond.
According to members of the Corrections Division at the CCCF, Spratley was released at 1:35 Tuesday afternoon.
It is alleged that Spratley shot a male victim in the early morning hours on Sunday in a parking lot of Lackawanna Avenue.
The victim – whose identity has not been released to the public by authorities – was shot in the abdomen and has been in critical condition at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Dictrict Attorney Joseph McBride confirmed Wednesday morning that the victim is still alive, and remains in critical condition.
At Sunday’s arraignment, Judge Frank B. Revoir Jr. set Spratley’s bail at $50,000 cash or $100,000 property bond.
