Both the Bainbridge Streakers U18 and U15 teams saw action this week as both teams cruised to wins against tough opponents.
Traveling to Oxford on Wednesday July, 29 to take on the Blackhawks, the U15 streakers team took an early lead and didn’t let up in a 17-2 victory. Scoring eight runs in the first three innings it was the Streakers offense that got it done for the team. During the first inning, A two-run double by Kori Thornton started the day and put the Streakers up 2-0 in the first. Piling on five more runs in the second inning, Bainbridge gained a sizable lead. Almost every Streakers batter got a hit during the 17 run rout, notably Bailey Hart who reached the bases four times off of two hits and two walks. Hart ended the day with three runs and two RBIs.
Oxford got their first run in the third inning and another in the fifth, but the Streakers’ pitching seemed to much for them that day. Alli Miller allowed only two hits, one earned run, walked none and struck out seven during her three innings of work. Oxford’s pitching ended the day allowing seven hitters to combine for 11 hits, 11 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
