PLYMOUTH - After three days of play and 54 holes of golf, the team of Brian Loomis and Bryan Boyer came out on top to capture the pair’s first championship.

In a close finish the pair beat out some tough competition to capture their first plate as a team. Loomis and Boyer finished with a total score of 203 over three round to beat out the second and third place teams by just one stroke. Finishing second and third were the teams of Tim Carson and Scott Seiler and Justin Bennett and Scotty Seiler Jr., respectively.

The two teams both finished at 204 and were placed via a scorecard playoff. To determine the winner of a scorecard playoff the lower of the two teams’ final rounds will win them victory.

Loomis and Boyer lead all three rounds in the tournament by just a few strokes at some points. The team finished the tournament with 13 birdies and just three bogies. “Today (Saturday) was kind of a struggle,” said Brian Loomis, “Our puts weren’t falling and we had to manage just to hold on to the win.”

Loomis went on to say that play on Friday was about the same as play on Thursday. The pair finished the day on Friday with a 67 and sunk five birdies and only one bogey.

Last year’s champions Matt Burrell and and Craig Dawson finished last in the Masters flight with a total score of 219.
