Busy Monday For Chenango County Court Has Burglary And Welfare Fraud Cases, Among Others

NORWICH – Chenango County Court on Monday August 10, 2015 had a full schedule as it saw a total of 10 scheduled court cases, two of which were the heroin cases in Tuesday’s edition, with an unexpected add-on late in the day.

Judge Frank B. Revoir Jr. was the Judge present for all the matters on the day. While District Attorney Joseph A. McBride was present all day speaking on behalf of the people of Chenango County.

• Damion M. Spicer, 19, of Mitchell Street in Norwich appeared in court on charges related to a burglary incident which he was previously charged on.

Spicer was represented by his Attorney John Cameron.

Spicer appeared in court on the possibility of waiving his right to indictment.

Spicer was charged with burglary in the third degree a class D felony, grand larceny in the fourth degree a Class E felony, and petit larceny a class A misdemeanor.

Cameron at this time entered a plea of not guilty for all the charges.

McBride filed his affidavit at this time while saying, “Judge, the defendant was caught breaking into place stealing computers and other things while under the influence of alcohol, he is only 19 years old so I am not asking for any additional bail at this time. I would ask however that he not consume any drugs or alcohol anymore. I want to know if he is going to be a criminal or a citizen of this community.”
