NORWICH – The Chenango County Fair featured its annual Talent Competition on August 15, 2015 at noon. Despite a late time change of the event from 1:00 p.m. of that day to noon, organizers said they had a very good turnout.
The event featured two divisions in the competition, a Mini Contest for the 12 and under division and the Talent Hunt made up of the 13 and over division.
There were four categories for each of the two divisions, as well as prizes for first, second, and third place. The categories for each age division were: Vocal, Instrumental, Variety, and Dance, as well as a Best of Show award for the overall competition.
“We had a great turn-out of contestants & they were all extremely talented,” said Terri Jackson spokesperson for the Talent Competition.
Those who won or placed in the Talent Competition are as follows:
Mini Division (12 and under)
-Instrumental Category:
-1st Place: Rylee Lum-9 yrs old (played parts of 4 songs on guitar)
-Vocal:
-1st Place: Leona Tyler-8 yrs old (Sang "Happiness")
