NORWICH – An Alvogen Company summer student employment program this year sponsored five local college students. On Thursday, August 13, the Norwich Leadership Team and company Business Managers hosted the Student Interns at a luncheon to recognize each of them for their contributions and to learn about their experiences.
The program focuses on delivering technical career experiences to community students currently studying at a post secondary institution. The work experience is aligned with the area of study. This year, the Company had students studying Chemistry, BioChemistry and Pre Health Studies.
Luke Murphy, Manager of Recruitment commented on the goals of the program: “Norwich- An Alvogen Company relies heavily on technology. It is important for us to build a strong pool of highly skilled candidates for our business, who want to live and work in Chenango County. Not only does this program give the student direct exposure to work in their chosen field of study, but it also creates a potential hiring pool for the business in the future.”
Students are studying: Sarah Cole – Pre-Health Studies, Abigail Schwarzhans – Biochemistry, Garrett Steiber – Physician Assistant, Branden Hitchcock – Chemistry, Abigail Schwarzhans – Bio-Chemistry.
