NORWICH - In opening play of the Tuesday afternoon bowling league at Family Recreation Lanes at the South Plaza in Norwich this Tuesday, September, 8, the team Guys and Dolls came out on top of the leader board.
Guys and Dolls totaled six points this week after some close games. Tied for second place were the teams of K & D, Rolling Stones, and Plaza Keglers, all with five points. After the first week all teams are still very close and as it is still very early in the 32 week season, it is anybody’s game.
Bowling the high game for the Men 600 or three games was Larry Mudge who threw an impressive 594. Mudge was followed by Mike Fuller who bowled a 582 on the day. For the Men 200 games Mudge also bowled the high game with a 241. For the Ladies 500 games it was Shirley Cummings who earned top marks, bowling a 476. Cummings also captured the top spot for the Ladies 200 games with a score of 184, only three ahead of Marge Gollnitz’s 181.
