MORRISVILLE – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is expected to release additional details of an ongoing investigation as to the cause and course plot of a Cessina 150 that crashed in the dense hills of Eaton, Sunday.

The crash – which claimed the lives of two Colgate University freshmen – happened in a thick wooded area just off Old County Road and Stonebridge Road, about two miles northeast of the Village of Morrisville near the Morrisville - Eaton town line.

The wreckage, a mere seven miles from the Hamilton Municipal Airport that it took off from, was called into Madison County 911 by several eyewitness neighbors who said they heard the engine quit seconds before hearing a large audible crash.

Both Madison County Sheriff Allen Riley and FAA officials have confirmed that the manifest of the small four seat aircraft listed only two passengers – Cathryn (Carey) Depuy and Ryan Adams – who instantly died at the scene upon impact.

On Sunday evening, a spokesperson for Colgate University confirmed that the two identified victims were current freshmen, both 19 years of age and from Ridgefield, Connecticut.
