SHERBURNE – After a five-month investigation conducted by the Madison County Sheriff's Office, an Earlville man was arrested on allegations related to child sexual assault.
Laverne King Jr., 41, of Earlville, was arrested for predatory sexual assault against a child, a class A-II felony; course of sexual conduct against a child, a class B felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
According to authorities, King is alleged to have committed these offenses repeatedly against a child who was younger than 13-years-old during the year of 2011, while he resided in Madison County.
King had since moved to Chenango County, where he was located once he registered on the Sex Offender Registry.
King was arraigned on Dec. 30, 2015 in Madison Town Court and sent to the Madison County jail without bail. He is set to appear again in Madison County Court at a later date.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, Madison County Children’s Advocacy Center, Madison County Department of Social Services, and Child Protective Services all assisted in the arrest.
