SHERBURNE – It was a career night for Sherburne-Earleville’s Savannah Irwin as she scored her 1,000th point last Friday night in their statement win against Adirondack.
Irwin, who netted a game high 31 points for the Marauders, had a marvelous third quarter, where she drained five three-pointers to join fellow teammate Lily Berg in the 1000 point club. Nobody in the school’s history is within 200 points of either player’s scoring accolades.
Irwin’s impressive scoring display was the highlight of the game as the Marauders racked up the numbers against Adirondack. Along with her 31 points, Irwin and her teammate, Lexi Elderkin, each had six steals a piece to put a cherry on top of a magnificent performance.
Adirondack had no answer for the high-powered Marauder offense. Their top scorers on the night were Belle Kranbuhl and Arielle Kranbuhl who had eight points each respectively.
This latest win extends S-E’s win streak to nine games and brings their overall record to 10-2 on the season. They will take on state-ranked Frankfort-Schuyler next Tuesday away at 7;00 p.m.
