OTEGO – Unatego was determined to play right out of the gates shutting Unadilla Valley's offense down to just 4-points in the first quarter, as Unatego raced to a 16-point start.

Unatego would go on to eventually win at home over the visiting Storm, 42-33 as they held off UV for fifth place in the MAC league tournament last night, Wednesday, Feb. 10.

“We just couldn't score. Defensively we played well. Dug ourselves a huge hole in the first quarter,” said UV head coach Brandi Whitbeck.

Despite the huge first quarter from Unatego, UV stormed back into the game as they only trailed 31-28 heading into the final quarter of play, due to a strong 13-point third quarter.

“Got it back to three in the third, but never got it any closer,” said Whitbeck.

Coach Whitbeck noted that Julia Oglesby notched 20-rebounds, on top of her team leading 13-points for UV.
