BAINBRIDGE - The Bobcat ladies were ready to roll following their MAC conference championship victory last weekend as they would beat the Unatego Spartans 65-48 on Wednesday night in the first round of sectional play.
Jillian Cannistra came out hot for Bainbridge-Guilford hitting a trio of triples to put the Bobcats ahead with a double digit lead after one quarter of play. Bainbridge-Guilford would maintain that lead to the halftime break where they were on top 29-19.
The Bobcats’ offense continued to roll in the second half. Abigail Selfridge, who would be the main contributor for the Bobcats, scored 20 of her game-high 25 points in the latter half of the matchup. Cannistra would have 14 points and Megan Palmatier added 12 of her own to keep B-G comfortably ahead until the final horn.
The win advances the Bainbridge-Guilford girls to the second round where they will travel to number four seed Watkins Glen. Tip-off will be Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m.
