MORAVIA – The Lady Trojan’s season came to a close last Friday night, as they lost on the road in Moravia, on a score line of 57-35.
Greene kept the game a tight affair in the first quarter, and were only down by three points going into the second.
Moravia opened the floodgates offensively in the second quarter, and erupted for 18 points. Five different players recorded numbers on the ledger. The Moravia defense also held firm, and restricted the Trojans to just three points in the quarter. At the half time interval, Moravia led by 18 points.
“We got into some bad foul trouble in the first half,” lamented Trojan’s head coach Dave Groton. “Four girls had two or more fouls.”
Although the Greene offense began to get some better looks in the second half, Moravia kept up the pressure, and behind some terrific play from game-high scorer Marissa Hingston, who had 15 of her 18 total points in the second half, they were able to close out the comfortable victory.
Best in the loss for Greene was Alyssa Sands, who finished the night with 14 points.
The Lady Trojan’s ended the season at an impressive 15-7 record, and proved that they will be a force to be reckoned with next season.
