MORAVIA - Back on November, 27th, the Trojan boys kicked off their season in disappointing fashion with a 40 point loss at Moravia in the Blue Devil’s tip-off tournament. On Tuesday night, Greene travelled to Moravia once again to take on the Blue Devils in the semi-finals of the Section IV Class C tournament. Despite a valiant effort and a much more competitive game, the Trojans came up short, 50-41.
“The boys played a great game,” said Greene Head Coach Chris Rice, “we shut down Moravia on the offensive end. We held them to one three pointer. Their foul shooting was a bit different.”
The Blue Devil boys accounted for half of their scoring production in their foul shooting, going 25-for-38 from the charity line. The Trojans only had 11 free throw attempts, cashing in on eight of them.
Gabe Short was a force to be reckoned with for Moravia scoring a game high 22 points and 21 rebound to boot. He was also 10-for-12 from behind the free throw line and a perfect 7-for-7 from the field.
Greene senior sharpshooters Jordan Harrington and Luke Day were held in check for the most part combining for 15 points. Joe Miranda led the way for the Trojans with a team high 11 points.
