SHERBURNE – It’s not exactly business as usual as the Sherburne-Earlville high school preps to bring its rendition of “The Pajama Game” to the stage.

Hailed as one of the best performances on Broadway after its 1955 debut, “The Pajama Game” is a musical comedy that tells a Romeo and Juliet-type love story about two unlikely sweethearts working in a pajama factory.

Curtain time is at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Sherburne-Earlville high school auditorium. Admission is $6 for students and seniors, $8 per adult, or $25 per family.

“The Pajama Game” opens in the Sleep-Tite pajama factory in 1954, where employes are tangled in labor dispute over a 7.5 cent raise that management refuses to give. In the midst of the chaos, a forbidden-esque love grows between Kathrine “Babe” Williams, the leader of the Union Grievance Committee, and Sid Sorokin, the new factory superintendent.
