NORWICH – A 20-year-old Norwich man was arrested Friday and is now facing drug charges.
Bashiem Ramell Jenkins was arrested at 1:10 p.m., Friday, March 4, by a Norwich Police Officer.
Jenkins was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.
According to the press log provided to The Evening Sun, this arrest happened following a traffic stop in the City of Norwich.
Jenkins was processed, and employees at The Evening Sun were told that Jenkins was arraigned and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility (CCCF) in lieu of bail.
Upon contact with the CCCF Monday morning, employees said Jenkins was not in their custody.
The Norwich Police Chief did not return a call for comment prior to press time Monday with any further information regarding the arrest including the type of drug it is alleged Jenkins possessed, or any other details surrounding the arrest.
