SHERBURNE – Two youths have been arrested in relation to a recent crime spree in the Village of Sherburne and surrounding areas.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Village of Sherburne Police Department, currently are investigating several reported incidents of criminal mischief and larceny in and around the Sherburne area.

The incidents being investigated allegedly occurred late on March 8, and continued into the morning of Wednesday, March 9.

The investigation carried out by law enforcement agencies began with a report of a motor vehicle crash on County Road 14 in the Town of Smyrna, when the CCSO was alerted around 4:30 a.m., March 9.

Upon arrival, deputies reported that the occupants were nowhere to be found near the vehicle and had left the scene of the crash.

Upon investigation, deputies determined that the vehicle was stolen from a residence on Classic Street in the Village of Sherburne.
