NORWICH - On Friday, March 11, students from eight of Chenango County's nine school districts were awarded the 2016 Lucy Funke Scholarship award as a presentation ceremony held within the Gallery of the Chenango Arts Council.

A crowd of more than 100 looked on as former long-time Chenango Arts Council Executive Director Lucy Funke presented the awards to students in attendance.

The Scholarship presentation was held in conjunction with the 2016 Student Art Competition which awarded the works of 12 area student artist. Best in show for the Student Art Competition was awarded to Shannon Laundry of Norwich City Schools.

Award winners in the four juried categories of painting, sculpture, drawing and photography include:
