GREENE – The Greene girls varsity softball team coached by Rick Condon earned their first win in style when they mercy ruled visiting Whitney Point high school at a score of 21-1 on Thursday evening, March 31.
“Seven seniors on the team and the rest is made up of underclassmen. They're all good softball players, they listen well and they work hard. It is going to pay off,” said Condon.
After some small mental errors on the part of the Trojans early on in the first, allowing Whitney Point to get on base, it was actually Greene who would jump onto the scoreboard first.
The first inning saw McKenna Sergi hit a line drive, allowing Alyssa Sands to make it home.
