NORWICH – The Norwich varsity baseball team saw a small mishap reshape their evening as they would come up short, losing to Owego 5-2.
Norwich would find themselves up early in the game after batting in a run in the second inning, however, it was the next inning and a crucial mistake that was the undoing of the Tornado.
“One of the outfielders, it was in his glove and it fell out. There was two outs so the guys were running on contact and they scored two runs on it and then got a hit right after that so another run came in,” said Norwich head coach Richard Turnbull.
After Owego's onslaught in the third inning, Norwich managed an additional run in the fourth while shutting out the Indians until the seventh.
