NORWICH – 2016 year marks the third annual NBT Bank Dollars for Scholars 5k event held, to be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 16.

The annual 5k event is held to benefit the Norwich Dollars for Scholars program, which is a nonprofit organization that provides college scholarships to Norwich High School seniors.

“The student chapter of the Dollars for Scholars organization helps organize and run the event which is unique to our race and provides an excellent learning experience for the students. The race begins at the Norwich High School Track & Field and continues on through city streets,” said Rachel Flanagan.

“After the race there will be raffle drawings for a number of prizes donated by local businesses and community members,” Flanagan said. “With each registration, the runners get tickets to enter into the raffle for a chance to win.”
