NORWICH – In a non-league game against Sidney last Saturday, Apr. 23, the Purple Tornado varsity baseball team suffered yet another loss, on a score line of 13-3.
The game was tightly contested until the middle innings, when Norwich began to lose its grasp on proceedings. Matters came to a climax in the fifth inning, where errors cost the Tornado dearly. “We almost got out of the fifth inning with no runs scored, but we made a two out error. They (Sidney) capitalized on it big time. It extended the inning and then we just couldn’t get out of it,” said Norwich head coach Rich Turnbull.
