OXFORD – Oxford suffered a devastating loss of 20-2 at the hands of Hancock High School this past Tuesday, May 3.
Prior to the beginning of the game, Oxford honored their three graduating seniors, Emilee Eldred, Rachel Seiler, and Corbin Wright.
Following graduation, some plans for each of the seniors were shared. For Eldred, she plans to pursue employment in the public relations field. Seiler has elected to attend SUNY Cortland next fall, and pursue a degree in Physical Education, while Wright plans on attending SUNY Delhi this coming fall, to pursue a degree as a Veterinary Technician.
Hancock would not grant Oxford an easy outing however, as they managed a magnificent first inning scoring 13 -runs to Oxford's 0.
“They started off really strong, they were hitting everything tonight,” said Oxford head coach Heather Pizza.
Despite being down 13-0 in just the first inning, Oxford stayed resilient and managed a run in the second inning when Raigen Ehly knocked a solo home run to left field.
“Our girls were hitting shots, they just were able to field them. Their short stop did an excellent job she was really instrumental,” said Pizza.
