SHERBURNE – The Sherburne-Earlville varsity softball team earned their 4-2 win over Frankfort-Schuyler on May 12.
Prior to the start of the 4:30 p.m. Thursday evening game, SE celebrated their six graduating seniors: Sierra Barker, Kaitlynn Howard, Savannah Irwin, Crystal Beckwith, Taylor Hallberg, and Kaylee Scott.
This home game, SE elected to wear pink as well, as they celebrated cancer awareness as well.
After a heartfelt celebration from the parents and fans, it was Frankfort-Schuyler that jumped on the scoreboard semi-early in the game earning a run in the third inning. SE would surrender another run in favor of the Knights of FS in the fifth inning, drawing the game to 2-0. In dire straits and knowing the innings were running out, four different girls knocked in RBI's in the sixth inning to take the final late lead.
“We won 4-2, we needed the win and the girls played great,” said SE head coach Michelle Parker.
