NORWICH – On Tuesday, June 14, 2016 The Place will be hosting an open house from 5:30-7 p.m. to debut its new playground made possible by the RC Smith Foundation, Greater Norwich Foundation, Roger Follett Foundation, and Thompson Brothers, Inc. The Place invites community members to join them in celebrating this accomplishment. The evening will also feature face painting and bubble play for children, as well as refreshments.
Additionally, the open house provides current and prospective families an opportunity to register for child care for the 2016 Summer KIDS Program. The Place offers child care Monday-Friday, 6am-6pm for $21 a day. This includes breakfast, snack, lunch and free field trips throughout the summer.
The Place also has an employment opportunity open in its Headwaters Youth Conservation Corps (HYCC) and will be accepting applications that evening for a Crew Leader to lead a crew of 5 people this summer in completing environmental conservation projects throughout Chenango County. The Crew Leader receives a stipend of $2300 and an educational award for college expenses of $1200. The program director will be available that evening to answer questions about the program and job requirements.
