NORWICH – Congratulations to Katie Gawronski, of Norwich for competing in the 2016 USA Track and Field Hershey Youth Outdoor Championships. This is a national meet held at Millersville University in Millersville, PA. Gawronski competed in the 13-14 year old pentathlon, a multi-sport event that includes the 100 meter hurdles, the shot put, the high jump, the long jump and the 800 meter run. This year's pentathlon included many outstanding athletes, notably from the southern California area. While Katie did not finish in the top three overall in the pentathlon, Gawronski did finish third in the 800 meter run with a personal best of 2:33.4.
